Ko Hikurangi te maunga.
Ko Waiapu te awa.
Ko Ngāti Porou te iwi.
Ko Gavin Reedy tōku ingoa.

I am forty-something years old. I attended Pencarrow School, Wainui-o-mata Intermediate, and Wainui-o-mata College. My mum and dad are still living in our whānau house in Wainui-o-mata, which we moved into around 1958. I left Wellington in 1979 for a holiday to the Halcombe area with my wife, Denise, and have only just returned to take up this position with Te Papa.

July has been a very busy month of organising – tying up an on-the-road trip where I visited iwi through Te Tau Ihu o Te Waka (The top of the South Island), and attending a Caring for Taonga workshop organised by NSTP and tutored by Rangi Te Kawana (textiles) and Vicki-Anne Heikell (paper).

Judith Taylor, Museum Development Officer - South Island

I live near Nelson in Ruby Bay, one of the small settlements in the Tasman District. This will be my base as Museum Development Officer (South Island) for National Services Te Paerangi.
