Welcome and greetings from National Services Te Paerangi.
Welcome and greetings from National Services Te Paerangi, a team at Te Papa that is committed to working with whānau, hapu and iwi to ensure that you have the right support, resources, advice and opportunities to continue caring for the taonga entrusted to you.
We recognise that taonga and their stories are treasured expressions of the Maori culture both past and present and that the care of these is important in terms of their ongoing role in the future identity of Aotearoa. We best meet the challenge of looking after them by working together.
We’re also committed to building, developing, and enhancing relationships with iwi, museums and related organisations, all of whom have a role to play in the ongoing care and protection of the heritage of Aotearoa.

Digital Photography & Paper Conservation workshops
National Services will be holding Digital Photography & Paper Conservation workshops throughout New Zealand during 2009. They are a collaborative effort by NSTP and the local iwi, and are in response to iwi who have recognised the risks to photographs hanging in wharenui around the country.
The first day will be helpful for those who wish to learn how to copy images of tupuna / whanau photographs that hang in wharenui or in their own homes, for future archiving and safe storage. The second day concentrates on methods and techniques on how to care for works on paper and compliments the first day of this workshop as it will provide participants with valuable information to preserve those documents for future generations.
