Cultural Funding Guide

Minister for Arts, Culture, and Heritage, Helen Clark, launched the Cultural Funding Guide on Monday, 23 April.

A new way to find funding for your arts, cultural, and heritage projects

A search engine to help arts, cultural, and heritage organisations match projects with potential funders started up on 23 April. The easy-to-use funding guide is hosted by NZLive.com, the smart new cultural portal that went live in September 2006.

This new search function is free to use and specifically tailored to the arts, cultural, and heritage sector, making it easy to find the best match between a project and potential funder.

National Services Te Paerangi, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage, Creative New Zealand, and the Funding Information Service jointly developed the guide.

Museums, art galleries, heritage organisations, theatres, and other performing arts centres were among the groups consulted during the portal’s development.

When launching the guide at Te Papa, Minister for Arts, Culture, and Heritage, Helen Clark, said it made perfect sense for the guide to be hosted by NZLive.com, a site set up to promote cultural organisations, their activities, services, and products.

‘Launched only seven months ago, website traffic to NZLive.com is building strongly. The cultural events guide is becoming a regular part of leisure-time planning for many New Zealanders,’ she said.

‘Organisations are also reporting that visitors at their events have heard about them on NZLive.com.’
